kid's table...

I've had this kid's table for a few years now.  Needless to say it was a bit dull for my taste.  I decided to spruce it up with some left over paint we had.  Here's what I did...

Step 1: Sand the table completely. (There was a heavy coat of sealer that had to be stripped.  This also happens to be the least of my favorite steps in painting...)

Step 2:  I painted the table completely white---two layers.

Step 3:  I used painter's tape to mark off the stripes that I planned to paint with an alternating color--on this table I decided to use red.

Step 4: Spray a thick layer of finish over the entire table to seal and protect the paint.  I used a spray, although you can use a brush and paint on the finish.

Step 5: When your husband arrives home and your house is in disarray, i.e. no dinner, toys everywhere, kids running around--carefully explain how cute your new table looks and hopefully he'll react with some grace...:)

Ta-da!  Love it.

Better Homes and Gardens

Framed walls allow you to display your child's (or your own) masterpiece, family pictures, inspiring quotes, etc.  I've been gathering some antique frames from various places with the hope to make a wall similar to those seen above. I'll be sure to share what I come up with soon!

Breakfast

Mornings at our house are a bit crazy. My eldest daughter has to be at school at 7:50. (Not sure who thought that was a good idea.)  I pile all three kids into the car--usually 7:40ish.  Needless to say breakfast is really difficult.  Lately, we've been doing this combo: nutella, almond butter, dave's killer bread--simply the best! (I also add some sliced bananas on top...) YUM!

Nail Biting

Essie Fall 2011

So, I had (past tense) a little habit my whole life: nail biting.  I'm sorry, but I couldn't seem to help it!A few weeks ago in church there was this women sitting a few rows over from me.  I kept staring in her direction the ENTIRE service because she was literally chomping on her fingers.  It was SO disturbing that I whispered discreetly to my husband, "Is that what I look like!?!"  And of course he laughed out loud in church and whispered back, "Yup!".  Never again people, never again...Excited to try some new Essie polish colors.

Sweet Evi

Hi, my name is Evalin Ruth.  Most people call me Evi.  I love to get into things.  My favorite thing to eat are pistachios.  My mommy tries to open them for me, but I insist on doing it myself.  After all, I'm nearly two!
