kid's table...

I've had this kid's table for a few years now.  Needless to say it was a bit dull for my taste.  I decided to spruce it up with some left over paint we had.  Here's what I did...

Step 1: Sand the table completely. (There was a heavy coat of sealer that had to be stripped.  This also happens to be the least of my favorite steps in painting...)

Step 2:  I painted the table completely white---two layers.

Step 3:  I used painter's tape to mark off the stripes that I planned to paint with an alternating color--on this table I decided to use red.

Step 4: Spray a thick layer of finish over the entire table to seal and protect the paint.  I used a spray, although you can use a brush and paint on the finish.

Step 5: When your husband arrives home and your house is in disarray, i.e. no dinner, toys everywhere, kids running around--carefully explain how cute your new table looks and hopefully he'll react with some grace...:)

Ta-da!  Love it.

  1. love it! especially the "when your husband comes home to disarray...carefully describe to him the cute new kids table..." sounds eerily familiar to some of my days :)
